Oral Surgeries

It is a branch of dentistry that involves diagnosis & treatment of various conditions affecting the mouth, teeth, gums & jaws. It encompasses a wide range of procedures, from simple tooth extraction to complex reconstructive surgeries. 
Some common oral surgery procedures include Tooth extraction, Dental implant surgery, wisdom tooth removal, jaw surgery, biopsy, cleft lip and palate repair.
 
Teeth extraction/removal – Surgical procedure is required to remove teeth (wisdom or any unerupted) when a tooth does not fully emerge from the gums or remains partially embedded in the jawbones.
 
Dental Implant surgery – This involves the placement of a small titanium post into the jawbone to replace a missing tooth. 
 
Wisdom tooth removal – Wisdom teeth, also known as third molars, often cause problems such as pain, infection, or damage to surrounding teeth. it may be necessary to prevent these problems from occurring. 
 
Jaw Surgery – Also known as Orthognathic Surgery, is used to correct misalignment of the jaw and improve bite function. This procedure may be recommended for people with severe overbite or underbite, jaw pain, or difficulty in chewing.
 
Biopsy – A biopsy involves the removal of a small piece of tissue from the mouth or throat to be examined for signs of disease, such as oral cancer.
 
Cleft lip and palate repair – This is a surgical procedure to correct a congenital defect in which the lip or palate does not form properly during fetal development.
 
Oral surgery is usually performed under local anesthesia or conscious sedation depending on case to case.
